Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1800, can it record OTA HD channel in 1080i

I am thinking to buy this 1800 tuner, can it record OTA HD channel in 1080i, since I saw some setup of the recording do not include the 1920x1080??

and I only have the XP Pro only, can I use this or what other software do I need to make my life easier.

the one that I plan to buy is a surplus they ask for $25, it do not come with the remote, what kind of remote should I buy?
any other suggestion welcome.
thanks.

If you record with Windows Media Center, you may get 1080i, same as what you see.
Anye MCE remote control should work fine. And I recommend using Media Center to watch and record because it is very easy to use. And you may get TV guide for free if you hacked it.
Where do you find the surplus TV tuner card? I am thinking buying one for desktop, and save the USB one for my Macbook Pro.

I saw on ebay this type of remote is so cheap, did anyone try them before, if yes, do you think they can work on linux too.
I have the hard time to find the xp media center, if and only if I spend $120 for the win7 home premium, I want to try mythTV, is that easy to use and what type of remote do I need for this.

USB PC Remote Control Windows Media Center XP New $3.53, can this thing work??
