This does look awesome...I wonder if it'll be broadcast in Canada (other than Crave TV)?

I re-checked Super Channel last night since they carry most Starz series as well as TMN since they would most likely carry it if Bell Media picked up the linear TV rights. No to both. I just looked at Bravo and Showcase in case they picked it up - also no. It's possible Bell Media may have picked up the second window rights to show on Bravo after the season is complete or possibly a year from now.

@dm_4u I think you meant you're not into watching TV on the computer.

If you're still on Bell Satellite, you can find the instructions to stream CraveTV through your 9241 or 9400 PVR here. (if you're interested in getting the service)

I notice that Counterpart is also scheduled on Encore-HD and it's on several times (much more PVR friendly) as opposed to the Movie Network only showing it once.

If you have timer conflicts...Encore would be the way to go...

@dm_4u I meant to post that as well. I noticed that only the first 2 episodes are shown on TMN 1. All episodes are shown on Encore 1 and 2, but episode 3 onward are only scheduled for Encore 1 and 2. If you set a series recording, you should definitely use Encore.

Oh no, we don't get Encore! Well we'll watch what we can and then if we like it we'll wait for a free Starz preview!

I would say that this is a sleazy tactic from Bell. TMN Encore, as the name implies, is for old hits. Putting first-run on Encore is obviously to spread the content thin so that viewers subscribe to Encore or Crave TV.

I would expect nothing less from Bell. In my opinion, the company is the definition of sleaze. Broadcasters with multiple channels often do this and Canadian broadcasters are no exception. In the bigger picture, this is just another instance of content dilution. The goal is to create and own as many channels as possible and to spread popular content between them in a manner that makes consumers subscribe to as many channels as possible. Considering the current broadcasting environment in Canada, putting Counterpart on a channel like TMN Encore may be unconventional but it's not surprising.
