City TV 2017-18 schedule

This thread will discuss the schedule updates for City TV broadcast network from Rogers Media for the 2017-18 broadcast year. Since OMNI became a mandatory basic specialty network on all providers on Sept. 1 in addition to being an OTA network, it will be discussed in the Rogers Media Specialty Channel thread.

I post schedule updates, series premieres and specials based on press releases as well as series renewals and cancellations as they are announced. I don't usually post on-going episode information, repeats, program descriptions or "PR-speak," so if you want more info, you can click on the associated link.

As a reminder, the following shows from the 2016-17 season have been cancelled by the U.S. network:

2 Broke Girls (CBS)
Bones (FOX)
Making History (FOX)
The Odd Couple (CBS)
The Real O'Neals (FOX)
Scream Queens (FOX)
Son of Zorn (FOX)
24: Legacy (FOX)
Prison Break (FOX) - won't be back this season.

Prime-time grid and additional info: https://www.citytv.com/toronto/fallpreview/

General comments:
Monday 8 p.m. Dancing with the Stars (s) *NEW to City* - formerly on CTV Two
Wednesday 8 p.m. The Blacklist *NEW to City* (s) - formerly on Global TV, NBC's new time conflicted with Global's Survivor
Friday 9:30 p.m. Speechless *NEW to City* - formerly only on ABC, not carried on a Canadian channel
Mid-season Fridays - Versailles - Current season is carried by The Movie Network, so this is probably season 1. Current season was previously carried on Super Channel in Canada, but they cancelled the contract when they ran into financial trouble.
Mid-season Sundays - LA to Vegas

It looks like City won't air the final season of "The Mindy Project," which will stream weekly on Hulu beginning Tuesday, September 12. (Source) No mention of the series in the press releases or the City TV web site.

City TV's schedule for Thursday, Nov. 2 is confused! Their original schedule from the fall press release and https://www.citytv.com/toronto/schedule/ shows this:

8 p.m. The Orville (pre-release FOX)
9 p.m. Mom (s-CBS) (season premiere)
9: 30 p.m. Life in Pieces (s-CBS) (season premiere)

The data they distributed to TV Guide and Zap2it shows the opposite:
8 p.m. Mom (pre-CBS)
8: 30 p.m. Life in Pieces (pre-CBS)
9 p.m. The Orville (s-FOX)

If you're interested in any of these shows, double-check the schedule.

XXX, thanks for your e-mail.

The CITY website has now been updated.

We recently changed the schedule to keep “The Orville” in simulcast.

The following line-up is correct:

7 p.m. Mom
7.30 p.m. Life in Pieces
8 p.m. The Orville

The Bachelor "After the Final Rose" two-hour special, which airs on ABC on Tuesday, March 6 at 8 PM ET, has been scheduled for Friday, March 9 at 8 PM ET on City. The new episode of Speechless (S02, E15) that would have aired on that date has been dropped from the schedule.

EDIT: ABC has 2 episodes of Speechless (E16 & E17) on March 14, which I think City will air on Friday, March 16 at 8 and 8:30 PM ET, followed by 2 episodes of The Middle. I don't know which episodes those will be, but one should be the new episode from March 13. It looks like City's Friday schedule returns to normal on March 23.
