I am surprised that Global drops Sleepy Hollow. While it is not a blockbuster show, it is a good one with decent ratings. I guess Global wants to avoid conflict with The Blacklist. I think Global could to that, though. It did not have anything on Wednesday at 9.00. Sleepy Hollow could have been pre-aired there. Instead, it is now a post-air new show with no certainty.

On another note, why is the original post full with emoticons?

@hercules130 This is what Dick Wolf's schedule will look like on NBC:

TUESDAY
9-10. PM Chicago Med
10-11 PM Chicago Fire

WEDNESDAY
9-10 PM Law & Order: SVU (simsub on CTV Two)
10-11 PM Chicago P.D.

Given that last year they had triple crossovers and NBC said in Chicago Med's description familiar faces from the Chicago police and fire departments will intertwine as this third team of Chicago heroes hits the ground running, Global would be smart to keep the shows in order. This is what Global's schedule should look like:

Tuesday
7:00pm Chicago Med

Wednesday
9:00pm Chicago Fire
10:00pm Chicago PD

Since NBC didn't plan to have Chicago Med air this soon, Dick Wolf may not have the scripts coordinated to do full crossovers with CF and CPD until mid-season, so it may not make a difference, but there's not much downside to my suggestion.

Global published their 24-hour schedule effective September 21, 2015, which raises a few questions. First, the changes:

  • Bones moves from Sunday 10pm to the Wednesday 9pm slot vacated by Heartbreaker and will be one day before FOX.
  • The Simpsons moves from Sunday 7 & 7:30pm to 10 and 10:30.
  • Global will fill the Sunday 7pm slot with Border Security followed by Emergency (from SLICE).

Now the questions: What are they planning for Chicago Med and Chicago Fire? They aren't showing Chicago Fire in the Tuesday 7pm slot. Are they just keeping their options open to see if they have any real duds?

Dr.Dave,

Chicago Fire will premiere on 13 October. It is Chicago Med that will premiere on 10 November. Therefore IMO, if Global is serious about Fire, it needs to find a time slot before Fall season starts as a month may not be enough time to weed out the bad shows. As well, as you mentioned above, Global needs to ensure that Fire, Med and PD are in the right sequence in a week. Otherwise, Global will be screwed if NBC decides to run multi-show crossover.

@hercules130 you're right. NBC originally had Heartbreaker in Oct., Chicago Fire in Nov. and Chicago Med in mid-season. Chicago Med probably wasn't ready for Oct., so they pulled Chicago Fire forward. Here are the NBC premiere dates for the "Chicago" shows:

Wednesday, Sept. 30 - 10-11 CHICAGO P.D.

Tuesday, Oct. 13 - 10-11 CHICAGO FIRE

Tuesday, Nov. 10 - 10-11 CHICAGO MED

I looked at the new Global shows on the weekend and I don't see any real duds, so they may be waiting to see if any of the U.S. networks make any early schedule changes before locking down their own schedule.

Michael Weston and Stephen Mangan have been cast in the lead roles of Houdini & Doyle, a mystery adventure drama series scheduled to debut on Global in 2016. Two great men of the 20th Century - Harry Houdini (Weston), master magician, escape artist and paranormal debunker; and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Mangan), prolific writer, creator of "Sherlock Holmes" and paranormal aficionado - grudgingly join forces to investigate unsolved and inexplicable crimes with a supernatural slant in collaboration with New Scotland Yard.

The 10-episode drama was ordered straight to series for ITV Encore in the UK and Global in Canada and licensed in the US on FOX.

There were two crossovers last season that were intertwined between Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Law & Order: SVU. Unfortunately for Global, they don't carry LAO: SVU - CTV2 does. IIRC, Global just had an announcement just before the 3rd and final episode in the crossover, at the start of Chicago PD, about events that occurred between Chicago Fire and the just-about-to-start PD took place on another show and they would join it "in progress".

As for a triple Chicago crossover event, Global will probably just shuffle their schedule for that one week when required.

There might not be a new episode of Minority Report on October 26th, due to MLB playoffs. Global is probably holding off on announcing what is happening to the other shows on that day until Fox comes out with their schedule (which would revolve around the MLB playoffs).
