The Event is the only show that might appeal to me. Hopefully the other networks bring more to the table.

NBC has picked up three more new series for next season -- a drama called "The Event" and a pair of comedies, "Outsourced" and "Love Bites."

The three shows join fellow newcomer "Undercovers" on the network's 2010-11 schedule and in taking some of the suspense out of NBC's May 17 presentation. A couple more new shows are likely to join the lineup as well as NBC continues remaking its prime-time slate following the Jay Leno experiment.

"Each of these three series reflects a unique point of view and distinct style of quality that fits perfectly with NBC's dedication to rebuilding the schedule," NBC Entertainment president Angela Bromstad says. "These series showcase excellent writing and casting and represent the kind of scripted programming our network and studio are committed to producing."

"The Event," created by Nick Wauters ("The 4400," "Medium"), stars Jason Ritter ("Parenthood," "The Class") as a guy whose fiancee (Sarah Roemer) disappears. As he searches for her, he stumbles on a huge conspiracy. The show also stars Laura Innes ("ER"), Blair Underwood ("In Treatment," "Dirty Sexy Money"), Scott Patterson ("Gilmore Girls"), Zeljko Ivanek ("Damages," "Heroes") and Ian Anthony Dale ("Surface," "Day Break").

"Love Bites" is an hour-long anthology series starring Becki Newton ("Ugly Betty") and Jordana Spiro ("My Boys") as the last two singles in their circle of friends. The show will feature three stories of love and dating each week, with their characters, Annie and Frannie, flitting in and out of each one.

Guests in the pilot include Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lindsay Price, Greg Grunberg, Larry Wilmore, Craig Robinson, Pamela Adlon and Jason Lewis. "Sex and the City" writer-producer Cindy Chupack created the show.

"Outsourced" stars Ben Rappaport as a manager at a Midwestern novelty company who finds out he's being transferred to India to run the company's new call center. It also features Sacha Dhawan ("The History Boys"), Rebecca Hazlewood, Rizwan Manji ("Better Off Ted," "Privileged"), Diedrich Bader ("The Drew Carey Show") and Jessica Gower. "Drew Carey," "George Lopez" and "Late Show with David Letterman" veteran Robert Borden created the series.
