Shaw Direct Questions/Simsubs

I am looking at switching from Bell satellite to Shaw Direct in the next few months. I have a few questions I was hoping people could answer.

1) How is the HD picture quality in comparison to Bell? Is it better, worse or the same? Can anyone comment? Most of the posts on here are feom years ago so I'm looking for something more recent.

2) How are simsubs handled on Shaw? Is it still postal code based? For instance I live in Saskatchewan so would I only see my local feed subbed if it is showing the same program as the US channel or will I get other markets over them?

Equipment issues are not a concern for me. I've had my fair share of issues with Bell that has ended up costing me more money. That and the terrible service have me looking elsewhere.

1. See the following post on Picture Quality - it may be for different providers, but the information is relevant:

You've already asked the question in the following thread:

2. Here's the Simsub thread - check out some of the recent posts while waiting for a direct response:

For simsubs, I believe they still do it at the receiver, based on location by postal code. You likely will get simsubbed Global and CityTV programs, at least is my experience in Ontario. If I attempt to watch US stations fro Detroit/Rochester, it switches to the Toronto Global and CITY stations.
