HD sensitivity to co-channel interference
A while ago I suggested that even low levels of co-channel interference would clobber HD radio. We have seen the first test of this.
On 102.9 one used to receive KNBQ "Q-Country" in solid HD, an 80 kW station in the Tacoma area. Recently a new station popped up on the same channel - KLOI-PL, a 14 W station on Lopez Island. That little 14 watter crushed Q-Country HD and regularly captures the analog FM detector. That new station is 150 km closer and features local programs, like people calling in to sing a song on the air.
One more country and western signal "bites the dust".
