More stations absorbed into the mother*ship. My condolences to the people of those areas on the loss of their local radio.

So, how long after the CRTC rubber stamps this, will Bell return to their usual corporate whining, claiming again the radio business model is "broken" and that in order to sustain fiduciary responsibility to shareholders, they need infinite powers to be exempt from all regulation?

I'm starting to think that Bell's continuing growth by gobbling up radio stations is motivated solely because they need to find ways to spend their obscene profits, not because they see any value in acquiring more broadcast dominance. Or, maybe the brilliant minds in the executive boardrooms find it sadistically fun to ruin local radio nationwide.

Paul Larche is a great guy and soon to be former great radio owner. He worked hard to build his stations, bring in good people and put on a strong product. Though Bell and Larche are both clients of mine, I do have concerns for some people in the group, however, Paul deserves to retire well and enjoy life.
