My favorite station, CFRB1010 talk radio has changed to iHeart. I'm concerned we are going to get corporate driven, washed down american style topics now. Well, Bell owned it previously so not sure anything will change much. So much for independent radio stations.

I hear the "An iHeart Radio Station" slogan on a few radio stations that I frequently listen to but I have not noticed anything washed down with those stations. To me my usual stations seem great and I continue to enjoy them as before. I dispise people who crap talk something just because of someone elses opinion instead of them listening themself and forming their own opinions.

It's not entirely clear to me how much control iHeartMedia has with this deal over Bell Media owned stations. Is it just licensing the branding/image? Or do they have any stake in the editorial contents of stations? Will the Canadian iHeartRadio app ever provide access to U.S. Stations? How about custom artists stations? Time will tell I guess.

AFAIK, only branding and inventory were part of the agreement. iHeart has no control over the content of stations in the Bell Media division.

Bell App. doesn`t work anymore. I can`t download the iheart app. because it`s not compatible with both of my devices. They`re both Samsung. How many listeners have they lost by changing apps?

Right around the same time, early October, Mike Bullard suddenly disappeared from his own show that had been on the station for about six years on weekdays from noon to 1 p.m.
For a week or two the station's website was saying it was still Bullard's show but with Jim Richards filling in, and Bullard himself tweeted "off on personal stuff". But now there's no mention of him on the website, it's now Jim Richards show from noon to 4 p.m., and last week the program director apparently responded to a listener's e-mail by saying Bullard "is no longer with Bell Media Radio" and "is pursuing new opportunities outside the company."
If all this had nothing to do with the iHeartRadio thing, then the timing of it was certainly a strange coincidence.

Bell Media announced today that Canada’s #1 radio streaming service, iHeartRadio Canada, has now surpassed 1 million app downloads. Launched in October 2016, this new milestone makes iHeartRadio Canada, which is consistently a Top 10 free music/audio app in the Apple and Google Play stores, the #1 Canadian-made music app.
