So CJBC is also testing their signal with artist experience, I got a picture with my Insignia NS-HD02 showing their logo on my device. First Toronto station to do so and it looks amazing! Love the fact that pictures can be sent through PSD! Wish the other HD stations in the GTA had artist experience, unless anyone can correct me that the other HD stations do have artist experience (but just not showing on my device). https://drive.google.com/file/d/15YO...ew?usp=sharing

Has anyone been able to recently get results from the link in post 160?

It worked for a while after it was posted, then just prior to Christmas, it had a message of being under construction, or something to that effect, then now, it returns no results with or without quotes as per the posters instructions.

Woke up a couple of days ago very early in the morning and noticed CHUM-FM 104.5 Toronto had HD again, with HD2 1050 TSN sports. The HD vanished an hour later and I haven't heard the HD since. Hmmmmm....

Interesting find. I emailed Bell Media regarding their status of their HD Radio operations since it was shut down since the CN Tower fire last summer. Haven't gotten a response back though... Hopefully this means they haven't given all hopes up with their HD operations.

I think once Bell figures out how to compute the digital power requirements for both 104.5 and 99.9MHz taking into account 2 transmitted frequencies for each station (4 total) and making sure the infrastructure can handle it, we'll see the HD return.

Now, if only CBC English service would implement HD Radio in Toronto I'd be very happy.

HD Radio has returned to 99.9MHz (Virgin Radio) and 104.5MHz (CHUM-FM) in Toronto.

Lets hope it stays glued together this time.

They flipped the switch last night. The HD stations are back with the sub-channels.

CHUM-AM is once again being simulcast on CHUM-FM.
CFRB-AM is once again being simulcast on CKFM-FM.

Better audio quality for starters. Also, there are some FM-only HD Radios out there.

That didn't last long..... ;-)

99.9MHz still has HD.

104.5MHz lost HD late yesterday.

About the duplication of AM onto HD Radio, It's a huge audible improvement. In the case of 1010AM CFRB being put on HD2 of 99.9MHz, it's in stereo. A very nice touch for a talk station having the ads and other music (I think the term is "bumpers") in stereo.

As to added benefits, on 94.7MHz here in Hamilton, we have "the wave.fm" on HD2 and out of town "92.9 The Grand" from Caledonia which are great additions. As a listener, it's a win win, the severe over processing notwithstanding.

Anyone driving downtown where there’s lots of electrical interference (ie streetcar routes, covered highways, tunnels) appreciate the simulcast of AM stations on HD
