790 CFCW Camrose AB moves to 840

As of 8:40 PM CDT, CFCW Camrose AB has moved from 790 to 840. After ironing out some apparent technical issues at sign on, the signal appears to be stronger and clearer than from 790 NW of Edmonton. Took until 9 PM for the station to clean up distortion from the 810 PM sign on.

Good thing Calgary isn't part of their coverage area, as skywave interference is far worse at night at 840kHz.

Wonder if it was a technical reason for switching, or if it was just that they were allowed more power if they moved to a different frequency

From what I understand, the change was made to make the signal clearer to the north of Edmonton. I think they are running with the same power, but with a stronger nighttime directional signal to the north.
