TSN 1150 expands non-Canadian content options

I was also comparing to the 2 TSN Vancouver stations. Either ESPN content or Soccer, or both as scheduling permits, will air often. The fall launch of TSN 1150 (too late for Ticats launch) infers NFL coverage. ESPN have 1pm Sunday games from a handful of mostly AFC teams. Perhaps also a window for more Westwood One, Sports USA or Compass Media NFL/CBF games. While TSN Toronto is the moniker I doubt TSN Hamilton will be used. More likely is TSN 1050 and TSN 1150 as Toronto will be the market of concern.

Two AM stations that have a similar music playlist (classic hits) like oldies 1150 had are 1460 CJOY out of Guelph and 1580 CKDO which broadcast from the Durham region.

Good. I've given up on CKOC.

I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

CKDO on 1580 also broadcasts on a relatively low powered FM repeater on 107.7MHz, which I heard last time I visited Oshawa.

I guess they'll have to dumb down and become sports announcers.

I took a look at the countdown clock on the CKOC website, and doing the calculations in my head, it indicates that CKOC will switch from 'Oldies 1150' to 'TSN Radio 1150' at 10AM on Labour Day Morning.

It seems that, even though it is a holiday, if they have DJs in that morning, that the DJs will bid their farewells at 9:55AM, likely with a goodbye song.

It'll probably be 'American Pie' that they'd play to end Oldies 1150, though I'd hope it'd be EUROPE's 'The Final Countdown', somewhat selfishly. XB

One last kick at the can has their Big 500 countdown starting Thursday at noon and (if I remember correctly) ending around 6pm Sunday.

Don't get me started on the fellas doing the Ticat play by play...

For those in the Niagara Region that can't pick up CKOC as well as the CHML signal for Tiger-Cats games, CKTB 610 St. Catharines has been simulcasting them.

I am hoping that CKTB has all the pre- and post-game commentary from CKOC for the Labour Day Classic - they tend to cut-off the games immediately back to local talk soon as they are over.

It appears that TSN has a website up for TSN Radio 1150 Hamilton now.

Hamilton 1150 - TSN

I found this on a lark...I copied the link for TSN Radio 1050 Toronto into Notepad and changed the 'toronto-1050' part to 'hamilton-1150'. And it met with success.

I tried the 'Listen Live' button, but it has nothing in it yet.

=)

Anyone catch how the transition from oldies 1150 to TSN Radio went?

Here's the transition story on CHCH:
http://www.chch.com/ckoc-goes-out-rockin/

Didn't explain the format switch how it was going to happen. I listened in around 12:05 for the Ti-Cats pre-game on the web-app, and it already was calling itself TSN 1150

The Spec also had some information, but not on the last songs played:
Hamilton?s all-sports radio station debuts with Monday?s CFL Labour Day Classic
