I just located this NPR mapping system that will allow you to see what the signal strength is of NPR affiliated stations in your area. It also allows you to map out the signal strength for PBS & Mobile TV PBS related. The site is very detailed in the radio section mapping out analog & HD Radio signals. The TV section would probably be of interest for the OTA section as well.

Here is the original article I found.

And here is the actual site.

CKGM-AM has begun broadcasting on 690 this week. They are also still on 990 for the time being. It's interesting to switch between the two frequencies and notice the difference in quality.

Blackburst, you are forgetting the French all-news equivalent to 600 coming up on 940. Talk about an AM revival!!!

No, I know about the the 940 AM station that got licensed. But that is really old news. They still aren't on the air. Perhaps by getting the 600 AM license as well will get them to move faster.

As for revival of the AM Band in Montreal. Not sure if this is really going to work. Sound quality on AM is usually very bad. Not sure people want to deal with that sort of thing this day and age. They'll need to have very strong news content to get people to tune in.

We'll see.
