It appears ALL of the DAB transmissions in Canada have now ceased. The last audible station on DAB was CFNY (albeit highly distorted :-) ) when the L3 ensemble vanished last Friday. L4 went late February, and the much publicized canning of DAB by the CBC in January 2011.
Whether Canadian radio stations want to invest in HD Radio for better sound, or have to to accommodate more players remains to be seen.
Dael, I'd be very interested if you tried a re-tune with your radio from the spot you had the Toronto stations and confirm my observations of no reception. This would be greatly appreciated.
I've heard that DAB also has been shut down in Ottawa also.
One things for certain, I'd listen to more OTA radio if one, the sound was a lot better and two, a digital system was used that would combat severe multipath. When it comes in consistently, HD2 on 88.7 WBFO (On The Border) and HD2 on WTSS 102.5 (Delta Blues) are both a real treat sonically and in content.
