Honestly, it wouldn't bother me if we stuck to standard time or daylight savings time 24/7/365.
Both ways has its advantages. DST gives us longer daylight in the evening during the summer months, but we wouldn't have sunrise until past 9AM in December and part of early January.
Another option that may be possible is splitting the two times in half, moving ahead 30 minutes from standard time. You would probably have to have the whole country and the US on board for that too happen.
