Sinclair owns affiliates of all big 4 big networks across many markets. El Gran was not referring to the Buffalo market only. They would only be allowed a duopoly in any one market. With centralised control centres it is possible someone patched the wrong network feed (NBC) to WUTV.
Other than Bounce's questionable self-reported numbers, I don't think we get regular numbers for any of the subchannels. Could (should?) change with ATSC3 making it easier to track audiences. Of course, who knows if TBD will last that long.
FWIW, I'm not against the more professionally produced web content getting TV runs, but I'm not sure it's something that can sustain a TV network.
I knew it was inevitable Sinclair would launch Charge here, but where am I going to get Walker re-runs now????? Haha... I wonder if anyone will pick up Grit again. Scripps has Katz's other two digi-nets, so I guess that's a possible home.
There's going to be some fun once Sinclair gets control of Tribune's assets.
TBD's aspect ratio messed up for anyone else? About half of the station bug is off-screen for me.
As someone who likes having country videos on as background noise, as well as watching the odd Chuck Norris roundhouse kick sequence where he takes out a bunch of bad guys, this is a disappointing day. Hopefully TCN and Grit get picked up again elsewhere, they were two of the better subchannels IMO.
And yes the aspect is wrong on TBD, the sides are being chopped.

Noticed the TBD crop as well. I wrote to my contact in Dayton where Sinclair now does network control for their stations. If you notice, Charge is taller than it is wide. It's actually a 16:9 SD network (so they can show current ads), but currently being squeezed into a 4:3 broadcast signal. So everything gets squeezed further. It happened a few months ago with Grit and I was chatting with network control so it was fun seeing the fix go live as I watched. Just emailed so hopefully we see a fix next week.
