WNYB got US$32 million to move from 26 to 5...they won't need pledge breaks for awhile!
They'll continue begcasting, that's their sole reason for existing.

holl_ands has some lo vhf antenna designs that are very simple builds, some are HUGE but a few are manageable.

WUTV showed NBC network program.

Last night between 830 and 900 PM WUTV started to show NBC network programming "Little Big Shots" for about 30 seconds.

Strange to see FOX showing a NBC feed. It must be related to the 10 PM news from WGRZ.

Keep in mind this is the United States, not Canada.

Very few 'Networks' actually own TV broadcast stations here.
They are typically owned by someone else, and they 'affiliate' with
certain 'networks'.

^^^ Sinclair owns affiliates at all 4 of the big networks. Quite possible something went wrong there. Seen it before with Nexstar getting stations crossed for a moment.

Sinclair owns affiliates of all big 4 big networks across many markets. El Gran was not referring to the Buffalo market only. They would only be allowed a duopoly in any one market. With centralised control centres it is possible someone patched the wrong network feed (NBC) to WUTV.

I did a rescan last night and got WNYB for the first time (I'm only using this) ... wish I'd get WBBZ instead (same group on TV Fool).

The article said the switch would happen on May 1st. It's now May 4th and 29.2 is still The Country Network.

Let me guess, the early market results were less than stellar and Sinclair is second guessing the entire diginet?

I tried to find anything about TBD's ratings - only news on the channel launching in various markets over the last year.

I still don't get the concept - seems like it will be curated YouTube clips. If they have a second-rate Tosh.0 like show, I may tune it in every once and awhile, but the concept otherwise sounds odd.

Other than Bounce's questionable self-reported numbers, I don't think we get regular numbers for any of the subchannels. Could (should?) change with ATSC3 making it easier to track audiences. Of course, who knows if TBD will last that long.

FWIW, I'm not against the more professionally produced web content getting TV runs, but I'm not sure it's something that can sustain a TV network.
