Moving to Oshawa with a 416 area code mobile phone

I'm moving to Oshawa from Toronto. I have a mobile phone with a 416 area code (Toronto). Does anyone know if I can continue to make and receive calls without long distance charges? I am with Rogers Wireless.

If you are in Oshawa and you make a call to an Oshawa number, it is local. If an Oshawa number calls you, then it is long distance for them and you.

416 numbers are local only to ajax east of toronto.

Wow I stumbled upon this thread that I started 7 years ago doing a Google search. So I thought I'd update this thread.

I stuck with Rogers for a few more months, then I switched to WIND Mobile and never looked back. I have been paying $150/month for unlimited voice/data/text to any number in Canada. My phone also has unlimited calls to the USA. That includes SIX (6) phones for my wife and 4 teens with a mix of Android, iPhone and BlackBerry devices. Pretty sweet deal considering I used to pay more than $150/month with Rogers with just 1 phone.
