Unhappy WIND - no connection to 4G

Lately I cannot connect to 4G service when I leave my wifi at home.

I noticed this happening about 2 weeks ago when my phone did a software upgrade. Since then my phone does not display WIND or AWAY when I slide down my menu. It use to show that on my phone before the update.

I have talked to about 5 different WIND people and they all tell me the same thing. Get a new sim card (I did that). Turn off the wifi when you are roaming (I did that). Restart your phone (I did that). Nothing works.

I can travel within the WIND network in the City of Edmonton limits and not connect to 4G. It shows 4G on the top and I have between 3-4 bars, but I can't connect. I tried sending my daughter a snapchat and it wouldn't go. I tried re-sending 6 times; nothing. I was near downtown Edmonton and tried to connect to the internet and couldn't.

Something is preventing my from connecting to the 4G and I don't know what.

Help!!

Hugh:
I too had problems with Wind about 6 weeks ago (but was re texts, after porting from elsewhere to a new phone). Found a Wind-corporate store and got them to do all the leg work to troubleshoot. (Non-corporate store can do only limited support as they cannot access your account). Ask their support for your nearest.

I have noticed, amongst many others, that Wind Data is becoming almost un-usable at certain times. Wind is aggressively promoting plans and offerings, thus attracting customers, without building up their infrastructure to match. This has resulted, in my case anyway, in data rates of a few kbps ( not mbps ) even with full RF signals.

Their Facebook, Tumbler, etc pages are full of customers complaining about almost non-existent data service.

Perhaps the OP is also a victim of this issue, at least in part.

Agreed. I have the $50 USA plan and have a difficult time using 2 GB of my 10 GB because using bandwidth for video makes those apps unusable.

After the summer travel season, I'll be downsizing to the $39 plan.

When it comes to humility, I am the greatest!
