Google blacks out logo in protest of SOPA

This will have a huge impact on public knowledge of SOPA, I think it was a rather bold move by Google:

I'd like to see this for myself, but my browser (IE, here at work) keeps defaulting to Google.ca. Is there a way to force it to load the .com?

On the very bottom right of the google.ca page there is a "go to google.com" button.

No, this will not work unfortunately. The only way to view it is to use a proxy server, it is not viewable from Canadian IPs, even if you click "Go to Google.com".

Interesting. I clicked on the "go to" button and my address bar is now displaying "http://www.google.com/"...but the logo isn't blacked-out.

Oh, well, no biggie. Thanks for the help.

For anyone wanting to browse the actual page as seen by US viewers, this Proxify (proxy server) link should do the trick:

Using the Google link to go to the U.S. Google.com site gives me the Google.com site with the Google logo, but also has the "Please don't censor the web" link replacing what in Canada would be the Google in French link.

Interesting.

That's from Cogeco.

How odd I select google.com (and no it doesn't redirect me to google.ca) and it doesn't show up like that.
