So that's the price difference, and so the DAC's are better than the $1000 Yamaha SD2700 (already have that player, got it for less than $200 brand new @ an A&B Sound sell off).

I've never done an A/B comparison, obviously, but suffice to say that my Pioneer BD player have totally retired my Pioneer $2000 CD player (with stable-platter mechanism). It's also better than my Denon CD-1400 CD player and equivalent to my buddy's Cambridge Audio Azur 740C

Behind the curve - want Blu-ray

I do not have a receiver for our HDTV. I am using a stereo amp with the TV speakers turned off. Our Toshiba HD-A30 will output analogue audio to the amp while connected to the TV with HDMI. This works great and we like it.

I am shopping for a Blu-ray player. I need one with analogue audio out like the Toshiba has.

Can you verify which units will work that way? Sony 350? or something else? Samsung ______?, Panasonic ______?

The TV does not decode HDMI audio and output it to analogue, so I need a player to do it for me. Thanks

Well I think I have answered my own question. I looked up the cnet reviews or the Sony S350 and the Panasonic BD35. They both have analogue stereo audio outputs. They do not have analogue 5 channel outputs but I was not looking for that.

I just picked up an open box Blue Ray for $125.00 at Future Shop. I hope I got a good deal.

Is the unit even legit? AFAIK that's well below cost. Furthermore, does it come with warranty?

It's an awesome deal. However, I don't understand why anybody is willing to lose that much money though. Based on the msrp, it seems like the dealer loses at least $200 per player. Not a good way of doing business IMO.

Has the newer Insignia NS-2BRDVD Profile 2.0-ready player shown up yet in Canada?
