This is a modern house. All the supply lines are copper and drains are ABS plastic. Rust from pipes is highly unlikely.
A very light brown water comes from every HW faucet, but the one line-end faucet gives out distinctly brown water for at least the first 5 seconds.
It is well known that HW tanks give out rusty water when they malfunction, but a new tank is much more expensive than two $20 anodes, and again, I thought the tanks were glass lined. I see no reason why the glass lining should have cracked to have the tank rust if indeed it can rust. So, what to do and why?
