Ontario Electricity Prices, November 1, 2017 & May 1 2018

Due to government legislation (Fair Hydro), electricity prices have come down significantly (about 25%) since last year. See link below for additional details:

https://www.oeb.ca/newsroom/2017/tim...ing-november-1

TOU: November 2016, November 2017

Off-peak Price: 8.7˘, 6.5˘
Mid-peak Price: 13.2˘, 9.5˘
On-peak Price: 18˘, 13.2˘

Remember that after adding in all the other charges and taxes on your Electricity bill, the above numbers are "almost" doubled depending on your usage patterns and total usage. The vast majority of consumers now have smart meters.

There will be almost no change in Electricity prices staring May 1, 2018 -> April 30, 2019.

Mid-peak goes down 0.1 cents/kWh. The rest remains the same. Also, this is for a full year, not just until November.

I don't want to see what will happen on May 1, 2019 but, based on past experience, I have a feeling it will be bad news.
