I recently upgraded my internet package and Bell installed the home hub 2000, all my other computers connect to the router fine. But I have one older laptop (Toshiba with Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter + Windows 7) that refuses to connect; I rebooted the router, I installed the latest adapter drivers, but no change. When I click on the network, it doesn't prompt me for the network key, it just gives me a "Windows was unable to connect to BELLxxx" message. What am I missing?
My first thought would be to possibly try to connect the old laptop to another wireless network, a Timmies or a friends or something like that just to make sure the wireless function/software of the laptop actually isn't the problem.
Brought it to work and it connects fine so that rules out the wireless controller. I also booted Ubuntu and no good so its not Windows. Ethernet connection works fine. I was told to change the network name so that will be the next step...
I have the same issue with a similar Toshiba Laptop and i think the wireless card is the same. I was only able to connect by adding another USB wifi adapter.
