What route should i take.

Hi All,

Looking for some advice,
I have had Bell Ultra High Speed for over 5 years, and i have my original speed Stream 6250 modem/router which i rent from Bell.

Now as far i can find out this does not support 'N' wireless networking speeds.

Should i get bell to upgrade this modem as it is rented, or should i just send this back cancel the rental and buy a Netgear N300 wireless ADSL modem/router ??

Of course there is always the option of keeping the current modem from bell and put a router in front of the modem to get 'N' wireless networking ?

Cant really decide which is the best option ?

Hope that all makes sense...

Thanks in advance
Steve

You could add a wireless N access point and turn off the radio in the 6250. Some wireless routers can be configured as access points (not sure about the N300.) That has the advantage of being able to use it as a router later. OTOH, if you can save the rental fee or get a better modem for the same fee, ditch the 6250. Bell may not want to upgrade the 6250. If so, threaten to cancel to get a retention rep.
