Please use this thread to discuss Bell MTS Fibe TV. As Bell mentioned during their purchase of MTS, Ultimate TV will be rebranded to Fibe TV, which is the brand Bell uses in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. They may make some changes behind the scenes, but the functionality will be very similar from the consumer perspective since the TV service will continue to use the Mediaroom software on the PVRs and STBs. I saw this in the monthly MTS newsletter.

Restart is coming soon.
Restart is an amazing new feature from Fibe TV that lets you watch a show already in progress from the beginning or watch for up to 30 hours after the show started. It's easy to use – simply choose your show, hit OK and the show will restart.

Restart will be available on 17 channels in 2017, and available on more channels in 2018.

We're upgrading to Fibe TV
Between November 7 and 21, we'll be upgrading the set-top boxes in your home one night between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. No new equipment is required. During the upgrade, your set-top box will be interrupted for up to 20 minutes.
  • If you're watching TV during the upgrade, a blue box will appear on your TV screen prompting you to select OK to start the upgrade immediately, or Remind me in 3 hours to delay the upgrade for three hours. If you don't select either option, the upgrade will automatically start two minutes later.
  • If your set-top box is powered off during the upgrade, the next time you turn on your TV and set-top box, you'll be prompted by the blue box to start or delay the upgrade for 3 hours.
  • If your TV is off, and your set-top box is on during the upgrade, you don't need to take any action - the upgrade will happen automatically.
  • If your set-top doesn’t reboot or you get an error message, please call 204-225-5687.
Your TV viewing experience is going to be better than ever with Fibe TV as you continue to enjoy the same features you have today, plus new features like Restart coming soon.

Restart is now available on 17 channels. See https://www.bellmts.ca/residential/tv/features.
Channels include CTV and Global Winnipeg for prime time shows, and TSN3 (Jets games) from 30 hours earlier. A pop-up link on the page shows all the channels.
Some shows like NCIS on Showcase are only available for restart during the current time period and then only for the next hour.
And of course no fast forward if you restart a program.

How many TVs can I watch?
With Bell MTS Fibe TV you can do up to 8 things at the same time:

Live: Watch or record up to 4* live shows at the same time in HD.
Recorded: Watch up to 4* recorded shows in HD or SD.
If you try to watch more than the above, you will get a conflict message. Follow the on screen instructions to resolve the conflict and continue watching TV.

Tips:
If two or more TVs watch the same live channel it only counts as one live show.
Video on Demand counts as a live show, not a previously recorded show.
Restart program counts as a live show not a previously recorded show.

* Shows on 4K channels count as 2 HD shows. Each 4K show uses 2 of your 4 streams.

EDIT: This wasn't posted as a response to the previous post. I found it when I was looking for 4K info and thought it was a good summary of current capabilities.

The Bell MTS site had a banner that says "Restart is available on over 120 channels." Go to
https://www.bellmts.ca/personal/tv/why-bell-mts-fibe-tv

and click on the word channels in the following sentence to see the list of available channels - "You can now enjoy Restart on the following channels."

They also have a support page explaining What is Restart and how do I use it?

Obviously, recording a show in advance is the preferred method to watch a show, but Restart is handy if you're channel surfing and want to watch a show from the beginning or if you didn't record a show for some reason.
