Far as I can tell it is. Here's my result, and I have the R1000H. Granted, I have an Asus RT-N66U in the Advanced DMZ, but the Actiontec is still in the picture.
Where you getting this from? I know the NEW Better bundle comes with 300/100 instead of the 150/50.
Are they just changing speeds in general again or is this what you are referring to?
Looks like it is just Better and Best packages getting a bump, Good is staying the same. This change is being phased in gradually to all existing customers.
Thanks for the update. I have a TP-Link Archer C7 in the DMZ with the R1000H. I'm still getting like 194/53 right now in St. John's. Might just have to wait a little while longer.. maybe I'll try to power cycle the Actiontek, or leave it off for like 15-20min and see if that jogs the upgrade.
Can anyone who's gotten the bump check your online account and see, in the internet details, what the speed tier is there? Does it still show the old "150/50" or has it been updated to "300/100"?
Did this morning. Unplugged it, counted a half dozen Mississippis and plugged it back in. Still 192/50 although the speeds aren't as solid as they have been. Meaning, Speedtest stutters and is slow to get to the 190 mark. Maybe that's a good sign...
you need to leave it unplugged for over 20 minutes to have desired effect, or just log into the modem and
1) Click on "Status" icon up top
2) Click "Release" button in the "Modem IP Address:" line
3) Wait for 0.0.0.0 to show up for IP
4) Click on Renew
If the changes have been made to your account already, you should now get new speeds. Otherwise you still have to wait.
One thing that is guaranteed to give you more speed for now is using the 5ghz wifi. I'd call Bell Aliant and inquire @can3gxw. Yesterday when I talked to them they told me I will see a $15 charge every month for 300/100 on my bill but then a credit for the same amount every month would be applied. Hope that helps ! Like I said I have the Better Bundle.
5GHz Wifi is irrelevant when you're running a speed test using a wired PC. My speeds are currently (still) running around 195/50 when run on my home server. My laptop on 5GHz WiFi still pulls in a decent 140/50 easy.
Oh, I know I was referring to using wifi just then, but your right. You will get a higher Speed Wifi though the higher your speed obviously so that's important to alot of folkes too. Wired is what's important when performing a speed test to see when you will get the speeds promised, for every device you might want to use it with. Hope you get it soon !

Tried this on my Actiontec R1000H. You still have to wait the 20 minutes for the IP to release even when the 0.0.0.0 appears. But yeah, it works though. Oh and I still didn't get the speed upgrade so my account mustn't have been adjusted yet.
I'm hearing this boost is only free for 1 year. Anyone else?
