Yeah, other than the size of the picture in Mr. Dave's post, the before and after pictures looked the same to me? What am I missing?
Is that it for the upgrade? Hopefully they've corrected a few important faults in addition to simply changing the colors?
The present software's SKIP forward and back feature is almost unusable, especially with the wireless receiver unit (the PVR isn't too bad). To advance through several minutes of commercials with the wireless receiver it's downright painful. Is this fixed in the new software?
The present software's penchant of the RESTART feature taking over when navigating through the trailing memory to tell you that "Pause is not available" fixed?
I called Bell to see if I can get the upgrade forced at my house, but the tech support said that 2.6 is "not ready yet" and when it is, it will go out geographically as everyone has suggested.
But saying it isn't ready yet? Weird.
Either way, I guess I have to wait! Getting really tired of slow response using remotes. It's especially bad (REALLY BAD) on my 1200.
Yeah, the 2502 receiver is painful to use, and it's on my main TV.
Comments so far have been about the speed of the PVR's, but no one has reported on benefits to the receivers yet, in particular fast-forward.
My solution was going to be swapping the PVR and receiver, but it won't be that easy to do, so I sure am anxious to see if they've solved the FF on receivers.
Just got the update this morning, I can confirm the FF/Rewind/skip forward/skip back issue on PVRed events is fixed. No longer need to wait for show to resume to skip ahead, you can rapid fire now!
