Why not buy a 6131, and a small external hard drive that you use at the cottage? Your TV would need to either have HDMI / S-Video, or Composite Connectors for this option, but you don't have to worry about a dated receiver. Many of the small WD 500Gig or less Hard Drives that don't require external power work great on 6131's, plus if your planning on recording many items at the cottage, you will have much more recording time.
Because the 6131 is actually a HD Receiver, if you have HD at home, you will be able to still watch some HD Channels (down converted) that are not available on SD Receivers.
