I myself am looking for the cheapest HT receiver with the following features:

- 7.1 Audio with Dolby PLIIz (i.e. front height speaker option)
- HDMI passthrough in standby mode
- Speaker calibration with some form of room-correction (rules out standard MCACC, but Audyssey MultEQ and Advanced MCACC are ok).

Some of the choices include Pioneer VSX-1021, Denon 1611/1911/1712/2311/2312.

I'm hoping to find something for $300 or less - haven't seen anything on the BB and FS Boxing Day flyers at the price point I'm aiming for. Of course I'll be checking out their online sales when they start tomorrow night, but if anyone runs across any deals, I'm happy to hear about it

I bought the HDP2500 by Monster for $ 199. Applied the $50 FS giftcard, can't complain. Have been looking to replace my previous HPS1600 from Monster, a FS boxing week purchase last year.

Considered APC, Furman..etc. I think this will satisfy me currently for awhile, until something better cross my path. Its a pretty decent device. Has taken the hum and surge away when I turn the Plasma on. Hmm, maybe psychological but does seem to have improved the AV alittle - but perhaps am brainwashed from the marketing info. on the box, which states this device's capability to do so (remove unwanted from power feed, not brainwash). For the money, it's worthwhile, I think.

I purchased a Blackberry Playbook too, from shop.blackberry. Pretty sweet tablet. They are still on sale until Jan. 5 (I think). Excellent build and finish and smooth function. Smart little tablet. I bought one for the significant other as well.

Anthem MRX500 [Processing] | Audio Refinement Multi 5 | OPPO BDP93 | Focal Chorus | JLAudio F110 | 50" Panasonic Plasma | Primacoustic Wall Panels

$78 Blu-ray players

This afternoon, while in Wal-mart, I noticed they had some Blu-ray players on sale for $78. The models are Sony BDP-S280 & LG BD620C. I saw these at the Square One store, but imagine they'd have the same deal elsewhere.
