Mattamy Homes "media-ready" wall
I hope there are some, here, familiar with Msttamy's so called media-ready wall. Basically they add an outlet up on the wall, cable conduit and a 2" x 8" brace between the studs. The brace is attached with 2-3 diagonal screws (no angle bracket or anything else to inspire confidence or explain the upgrade cost).
Am I supposed to anchor the wallplate to the studs (24" spacing, which rules out many mounts) or the 2x8 or whichever?
Also, with exchange and shipping Monoprice and Factory Direct come out about the same (I can drive to FD and get then right away vs. waiting 5-10 days). But FD sells a lot of junk, so is it safe buying wall mounts? HDMI cables?
Thanks, and any other things to look out for with Mattamy media ready walls?
P.S. I see most mounts don't include a bracket for a soundbar. Are there addons fur that? Seems like something fairly simple.
