Sasem OnAir USB2: HDTV Anywhere!

Want to watch HDTV on your laptop? With the USB2 Sasem OnAir HDTV unit, you can watch HDTV at your local coffee shop or on the road.

This could be cool. This link is the first look from Toms Hardware of an external HDTV Tuner that can connect to a Laptop or computer.

There is quite a long thread in the Dell forum on this one. It started almost a year ago, and Sasem does seems to be quite versatile having pvr functionalities built into a hdtv tuner:

I have been looking into this as well but there is a turn-off

"Like other players, you can also take still pictures and record video using the OnAir. Video is recorded in a proprietary format with a .tp2 extension. A sample 13 second clip was 31 MB in size. The clips will only play back inside the OnAir player, and there doesn't seem to be a way to export it into MPEG2 or another common format. This should be considered if you intend to transport clips to friends or other computers."
