Question TV turn off/on DVD and vice versa

Ok I'm not sure if i'm in the right forum for this but let's give it a shot!

I have a Samsung LCD TV hooked up to a Samsung DVD via HDMI. When I'll turn one On/Off it will also turn the other device On/Off even when I use the power button of the devises, not their remote.

Does anyone have any explanation to what happen or did you ever had this problem?

Also is there a way I can turn this feature off?

Look for something like "HDMI Control function" in the user manuals. That is what the Sony brand calls it.

SA9865HD; Panasonic TH-50PZ850; Denon AVR-X4000; Tannoy: Arden, S8C, S8LR; SVS 16-46PC+; Oppo 971; Harmony 659/680
