Help!!-->STB-Sound Systen Sony Bravia

Hey Everyone!

Nice to be part of forums!

I have a New 52" Sony Bravia set up with surround sound HDMI style

My Problem: Have an STB setup HDMI to TV. In my sonia bravia tv options I can selet "TV Speakers" or "Sound sSystem Speakers".

When I select Sound system speakers it doesnt work (made sure my function is set to TV on surroud system).

What other connections do i need to make?

Thanks newbie at this stuff

You do not say what kind of receiver you are using.

Also what is the STB.

As indicated above, do you have a sound system? What is the make/model of that system. Note that in order to get DD5.1 audio from a sound system you need to connect directly from the STB and not "through" the TV. See the following post - bolding:

FAQ - What's Available in DD5.1

Hi thanks for the replies I appreciate it.

My sound system is a Sony DAV-HDX975WF. My STB has optical or component. With the optical I could go straight to tv or straight to STB. what is the best way to get the best sound?

In addition to cooper83's remarks and my previous post, you will not find an optical input on the TV.
