Question Samsung LN40A450 vs. 40" 550 model: which one?

I have been looking at the Samsung LN40A450 and the 40 " 550 model.
The 450 is 720, 10,000 to 1 contrast and 6m
the 550 is 1080 30,000 to 1 and 5m. The difference in price between the 2 is around $300. My question is, is it worth it.
We have Rogers digital cable, no blueray and probably not for awhile,
may upgrade to HD in the future. So will be watching TV, DVD's and Xbox 360.
IF you were buying, which model would you get, and if you were to get the
550, why?
Would you choose another make instead.

Thanks for your thoughts.
