Staples is way over priced on most electronic items but they had excellent price match policy, where they would match the price and give additional 10% off the difference. I said had because with the new "We Will Not Be Undersold" slogan they removed the additional 10% off the difference offer, and I believe they reduced the number of days for the price match from 30 to 14.

Smile I Like Staples

My experience with Staples (online ordering).

1. EPSON All-in-1 Printer. Retail $299. Unannounced web sale $89.95 for one day only. Ordered early Thu. morning (2 AM). Delivered Friday afternoon.
2. Acer Desktop PC. Ordered Monday morning. Delivered Wed. morning.
3. Ink Cartrridges for Same Printer. Ordered Sat. eve. Delivered Tues. morning

So. As you might guess, I'm quite happy with Staples. We live a bit off the beaten track here in PEI. An ordinary letter from Toronto to here takes a week to reach us in many instances. Staples and Amazon Canada are the only two online retailers who can be relied upon to deliver in two to three days most of the time. The rest take a week or more (e.g. Sonystyle). One takes up to three weeks (Indigo). Guess who gets my business?

Angry Very Disatisfied Staples Canada Consumer

Warning for future Staples Canada buyers!!!!
I purchased an IPAD 2 for my 9 yr old daughter as an XMAS GIFT at the local Staples store (N.Battleford, Sk) on (Dec 12th 2012) She opened her gift on XMAS day and was happy and excited to receive her IPAD 2!! When she turned it on, there were strange lines on the bottom of the screen? I took it back to the local store for an exchange but were closed for Holidays. My Family went to meet my parents who live 3 hours from us for further XMAS celebrations and did not return back until Dec 29th 2012. I went to the local STAPLES store and was directed to the manager. I told her about the Ipad and the lines and that it was purchased as an XMAS GIFT for my 9 yr old daughter, the manager then looked at the receipt and went on to tell me that the 14 day refund/return has come and gone by 3 days!!!!
I plead my case once again to her but fell on deaf ears. I then contacted Staples.ca online via email (their phone support was closed for holidays) I now contacted Apple Canada via Telephone and they too were on shut down for the Holidays?) Finally on the 2nd of Jan 2013 I got a hold of Apple Canada and they told me that the Ipad 2 has a hardware malfunction and they will send a replacement one right away once I send the old one back. Purlator Courier dropped off a Box at my home finally on the 8th Jan 2013 and in turn I sent the IPAD 2 back.
Staples online finally replied back today as well (Jan 8th 2013) and sent the following reply back to me,
"I have forwarded your email to our Corporate Customer Care Department,
who will work with the store manager at this particular location to
resolve your concerns. " Melanie, E-commerce Communication Specialist

My daughter first opened her gift on the 25th Dec 2012 and is now the 8th of January 2013 and has gone without her IPAD 2
I Will never purchase anything from the local Staples store for their lack of compassion shown during the Holidays!!
For those of you who plan on purchasing anything from Staples during the XMAS holidays, beware.

Staples online PST calculation glitch: Québec

On January 1st, in accordance with the harmonized sales tax, the Québec PST (or TVQ) calculation changed. It is now 9.975% of the item cost, exclusive of the added GST. Previously, the GST was added to the item cost, and the PST calculated on the sum. In both cases the PST remains unchanged.

I purchased a 500$ item at Staples, and the e-mailed receipt indicated the correct total including taxes, however my credit card statement indicated a larger amount corresponding to 9.975% x (item cost+GST). I called Staples online and after a couple days of investigation, they decided to reimbourse the 2.22$ owing. More about the Principle (and the Consumer Protection Act), than the money!

Not sure If the electronic department guys get commission but my code the hard sell I received on buying warranty this week on a tablet was over the top.

Asked the Rep for a 150$ Samsung 8" tablet. Just for the kids just a cheapo.
-he started to talk warranty I said no no thanks I don't buy warranty
-he insisted I needed to here all the details so after a few minutes of him explaining I said how much? $70 he responded. I laughed and said no thanks again thats almost 50% on top of the tablet.
- so off he goes to find one. While waiting another Rep asks if I need help. Said no thanks you college is going to get my tablet. So he asks if I'm getting warranty? Wtf? No I said. Then proceeds to push screen armor. I said no. TheN a case. I SAID NO. Then an SD card.. No I have all that stuff at home thats and he finally leaves me alone
-original guys comes back saying he found one. And informs me he had the wrong price for warranty it's really 20$ I said well ok I guess I get that.. Opens his warranty flyer's.. Oops it was really 39$ I said thanks but no thanks..

I never ever had that kind of pressure at future shop where I beleive they got kickbacks and never at best buy.
