www.electronicsforless.ca for audio/video and www.cendirect.com for electronics/video/computer, both out of Ontario. Excellent service and the best prices I've found on newer stuff....at times.
www.bestdirect.ca is also good for electronics/computer
I second for www.onhop.ca and www.memoryexpress.com

Installation Service providers ?

Is there a section on service providers for installation of satellites, antennas, etc.? I needed to move my satellite dish from the roof and went looking. (Ended up using kijii and found a local guy who did a good job).

Services may include installing, AV setup, antennas, home studios, etc.

Add NCIX

Please add NCIX aka Netlink Computers. They now have 6 locations in BC and 3 locations in ON, plus of course their huge online business. All the geeks "in the know" by from them.

Regards,

How about a thread for takefiveaudio.com?

I had a great experience with takefiveaudio after looking for a Canadian source of cables of similar quality to Blue Jeans Cables. I'd like to share my experience for anyone looking for similar cables.

Canadian Tire is huge national retailer but it is missing in the review section.

Also Home Depot, Rona, and Dell Canada online should be there.

That would be great to add a few more cities as many of us don't live in the Toronto area. Also include Montreal. Also, for each add a separate "OTHER Retailers" in case you didn't add some retailers.

Montreal Retailer: La Boutique Electronique (www.laboutiqueelectronique.com)

They have both audio and video equipment.

Review: Started off nice with salesman coming to my home and gave me a quote in writing. Once purchased, realized that he switched speakers on me for a lower grade model. I told them that if it was an honest mistake they can just take back the equipment or give me what I thought that I was supposed to get. The company refused to do anything.

Installation: BAD! Left holes in the wall even though salesman said they wouldn't. Cleaned a brand new Panasonic VT50 (65") with an old rag we had in the house. Speakers were too close to the wall mounted TV (less than 2") . So couldn't access the ports on the side. Speakers too close to heaters. Calibration of system was done wrong!
- Learning Home theater system and setup. Salesman told me that I would be given a detailed transfer knowledge and that the installers would not leave before I'm comfortable. The installers left with the admission that they knew that I was uncomfortable.

Retailers response: They lied on everything. They said I knew what I was getting and gave me 2 quotes and I chose the lower model but that never happened!

Summary: I can't recommend this company as I had a bad experience. When things go wrong is when one can deduce better if the retailer is truly thinking to make the customer happy. I gave them options but they just turned the tables around and blamed me! Terrible experience.
