Frustrating and Futile - went to Future Shop in Abbotsford B.C. to buy a top-of-the-line MacBook Pro computer. The sales associate in the computer department literally could not answer a single question I asked about the product. Three times I was left standing in the aisle when he went to ask someone else. Then he tried to down-sell me on a "out-of-box" product. At the last minute I noticed the computer had no operating system and would not boot. What a waste of time. Really wonder why Apple places their products with such unknowing retailers?.
The store manager wasn't available while I was in the store or when I called a few hours later. I called head office, where I had to repeat my contact information to three different people - and despite promises I'd hear from the store manager, still no follow-up.
The previous time I went to Future Shop it was to buy a Bluetooth speaker, Once again the sales associate knew nothing about product features. Even insisted that laptops don't have Bluetooth. I'm done - I am a certified technology specialist - I will NEVER again consider Future Shop for computer purchases of any kind.
Ended up buying the exact same model from Staples, where the sales associate answered ALL my questions immediately and thoroughly. Even though they had to order in that particular model from an nearby city, I had it home and working within three hours.
