They're still on rf34. Last fall they were broadcasting THIS TV but I guess he's had trouble again.

When I first started getting it a couple years back at one point all they ran was public domain Beverly Hillbillies episodes with the original advertisements including some for tobacco products, how this was allowed is anyone's guess. I remember seeing a B&W Flintstones ad for Winston cigarettes along with a Kodak Brownie camera ad. They broadcasted like that for months then became a THIS TV affiliate.

I guess he plans on running as a THIS TV affiliate for Buffalo when he changes to rf11, unless someone scoops him up, which might be his long term game.

What I don't understand is why there are 2 stations airing LAFF, out of Buffalo, maybe someone can clue me in on that, are there multiple cable/sat providers offering only one or the other?

I would assume the owner of Laff is paying the owners of both stations to broadcast it on their stations.
The owners of both stations likely do not own stations in every city nationwide.
Simple as that.

Some nice westerly tropo this am. Picking up some South Bend and Elkart IN stuff - WNIT, WBND, WSJV and WANE along with the usual host of the majority of south/central MI.

Cleveland and Akron were good last night, WNEO, which is close to WIVM's transmitter was perking at 80% ss and RF39 was up to 18%, I suspect the first good night of tropo will deliver WIVM, the only sub 300 mile tropo rf 39 capture I haven't got.

Last night Pittsburgh was pretty good along with some Clevelands, WBYD which is on rf39 (formerly WIVB) was trying to come in in the low 20%ss, tonight looks similar, picking up WPXI and WTAE, once WPNT comes in above 70% I'm sure WBYD will follow.

Grabbed a little from all over this morning between 8:30-10, Rochester, Syracuse, Johnstown, Erie, Youngstown, Cleveland, Detroit, Oil Springs, plus I got TVO33 from Chatham for I think only the 3rd time.

The recent wind storm pushed my GH10 aim about 90° away from my vhf antenna and it bent my galvanized steel mast again, but luckily it's still usable for now.

EDIT: I think WGRZ33 was off-air when I got TVO33, I'm getting absolutely nothing on rf33 now.

Congrats on those new ones Spitsfan!

Happy May Two Four to all, getting a bit of a mixed bag tonight, some Cleveland, some Pittsburgh's, WJAC Johnstown and a brief whiff of WNEP Scranton.

Not holding up much hope for a great evening but got a few hours before I need to crash.

Edit 9:40pm:New Station
(according to WFTDA rules) WRLM rf50.

Edit: 10:20pm I think WEAO is carrying the single WRLM as a sub and switching it to WRLM 47-1 vc because once WQLN came back in both WEAO and WRLM went missing.

No new channel.

Picking up the hard to get Pittsburgh's WPGH rf17. WPCW rf11 and WINP rf 38, I missumderestimated (sic) tonight's tropo.

Thanks for the confirmation, majortom. Nothing much here tonight, only two from Cleveland. Do you have a link to those rules? I didn't realize it'd be considered a new channel. Isn't WRLM sharing with WEAO on WEAO's current rf50 transmitter until they change frequencies at the repack?

I should have refreshed my browser link before making that grandiose claim of a new channel, but it's MAY TWO FOUR so all propriety goes askance.

Truth be told, I've had a few and hadn't considered the likelihood of a PBS station partnering with such an odious partner, I thought they were above that, in spite of taking Koch money for science docs.

Edit 7:30am WBYD (rf39) booming, I think they added a sub, they now have Shop LC on 39-3 along with CRTV 39-2 and Jewellry TV on 39-1.

Edit: 7:50am Getting a PBS repeater on rf29, says WNEO WV, can't find it on rabbittearsinfo.com

Edit 8:50am Pittsburgh still booming, now getting KDKA rf25 also WKBS rf46 and WHVL rf27 State College area. Something trying to come in on rf21, no clue what it'll be.
