Posting in this forum as this seems to have specific threads discussing other online TV apps such as Shomi and Crave TV.
My opinion of the TSN GO app, particularly the live video feeds, is that it is very poor.
My experience with the video feeds is:
- Works okay on my Android smartphone (a cheap Acer from a Speakout deal) but too small to watch for long periods.
- Does not work at all on my Android tablet (a cheap Black Friday RCA from Walmart). It will not even install as my device is supposedly incompatible.
- Does not work at all in any mobile browser on the Android phone or tablet, apparently by design to push use of the app.
- Works well via the webpage on my pc at home - which kind of defeats the point of a mobile GO application when one can just watch the TV at home.
The Google Play store shows a litany of complaints and a rating of 2.6 (no doubt boosted upwards by the actual availability of sports information as well as theoretical video access).
So, my question is this: does anyone have an Android tablet that the TSN GO app actually works on and that they can recommend please?
I see from the google store that at least one customer finds that the app does not work on a Nexus 9 as recently as September. I'm not optimistic, but is there any point in upgrading my tablet in order to watch the TSN GO videos ...
FWIW - I have no significant issues with other Bell media apps such as Crave TV or CTV GO. It is only the TSN GO app that seems to be substandard.
