CSI.... Is that `Cottage Scene Investigation`?!!!!

I can`t believe that another new station emerges from what once was a relatively good show and definitely a feelgood show, but not a 24 hrs station! This isn`t the first time, and not the last.

If Life is a Highway,...then why is there no end to this dirtroad?

Why Fall 2013 why not Spring 2013. If there going to re-brand Bold?which more then likely or Bold will shut down & this new channel will take its place, why not launch the channel in Spring 2013. I think more individuals would watch the channel about cottage life in spring & summer compared to Fall & winter when your cottage in most cases(depending on where you live), so you can have more relation to the shows?

I read the link and it doesn't say anything about a re-brand and it only states an HD channel, not an SD version. I wasn't aware of what else they owned but have to admit at least it appears to be only one of the companies that actually folls their license contain

AUX -music
Bite TV -entertainment
Travel & Escape -Travel
Lifestyle -HIFI, RadX, Oasis, Equator-Documentaries/music

I sent them an e-mail asking if its going to be a new channel or Re-brand.

It's fun being weird It's fun being weird It's fun being weird You should try it sometime. The Detour

I'll have to wait and see.

At least it is not the Canwast/Global/Alliance group. They would see excuses to thin their Food, Slice, and HGTV properties there.

Used to enjoy watching the cottage programs that used to be on various networks in the recent past. I can only hope that this new channel keeps to the theme and does not go too far off topic.

DIY (repairs on the cottage, boat, dock, etc..) , Food (on the BBQ, over an open fire, etc.), and Makeovers (change city folk into country folk :-) LOL)

I can also only hope that the new channel looks at cottages all over the country, not just Ontario (near TO) cottage country; but salt water cottages, far northern cottages, other provinces fresh water lake cottages; and cabins in the woods or the mountains or valleys, etc. There are lots of possibilities, but let's face it, they would have to spend some money to produce a few original theme related programs, and that would be a rare thing on Canadian digital television.

They do have a couple shows that we know of that will be going into production at some point. From their website:
  • DECKS, DOCKS AND GAZEBOS: Is that boathouse falling into the water? Is your dock rotting? If you are in the process of planning your new dream dock, deck, (or any other neat wooden structure) and are looking for a contractor, then this is the show for you. Experienced builder Colin Hunter will be building new structures across cottage country this summer.
  • WEEKEND MAKEOVER: Tired of the knotty pine paneling and craving a more contemporary look? We are looking for people who are in the process of planning on re-decorating a room or larger space in their second home this summer.
  • COTTAGE CHEESE: This is the show that celebrates people who go that extra mile to have fun at the cottage. Do you have unique collections? Quirky family traditions? Community regattas, parties? Eccentric art and decorations? An outhouse made from an old boat? This series showcases the collections and events that make cottage country fun—and the stories behind them.

But of course, like any Canadian broadcaster, there will definitely be a bunch of shows from their other properties on this channel, especially Travel and Escape. Or maybe it'll be the other way around, that Cottage Life shows will likely air on Travel and Escape.
