Can't Order PPV via Remote

Received some PPV coupons and was surprised that you can no longer order via the remote. Was this ever communicated to customers?
They used to surcharge you if you didn't order through the remote. They provided some lame excuse about kids ordering PPV and complaints in this regard but pretty sure there are safeguards with parental controls and passwords in place. Pretty sure there is more to it than this.

This info is a bit dated but it may still apply. Ordering PPV via remote must be enabled for each receiver. Shaw ships receivers with this feature disabled by default. This also applies to replacement receivers. Once enabled, I believe a password can be set to prevent unauthorized PPV ordering.

No, I verified with Shaw Direct that you can no longer order via remote.

That's a step backward and one more strike against Shaw for me. Not that I order PPV very often but waiting on hold to order a PPV would wouldn't be worth it.

Actually, you don't need to be on hold. If you use an agent, there is a $3 surcharge but they have a PPV hotline and it's all automated so you just plug in the PPV code for the movie and time slot you want.

I only use PPV when they give me free coupons. At $6.99 for an HD movies, that's pretty well a 1 month subscription to Netflix.
