FX Canada

Second response from Shaw was the usual "questionnaire" about signal strength, etc. (I mean, why bother, when there are no other problems?) Now it seems that during the day, the signal just keeps popping off, but at night, it is much more stable. I could probably have watched The Americans all the way through, but downloading it after was so much better... and no commercials.

But this does not solve the problem. What happens when the next sat is up delivering only mpeg4?

+1 on the spotty FX reception. We also first noticed it during The Americans, and happened again today trying to watch The Egde. I guess I'm glad to find that it's not my problem. Hopefully SHAW can get this fixed.

These channels will be in free preview until August 29th and then will be part of a new HD package called "HD Extra 2" Price for this package to be set later.

I wonder if all NEW Specialty MP4 HD channels will wind up in HD Extra 2 and Existing Specialty NON-MP4 HD channels will remain in "HD Extra (1)" so that anyone who isn't good to go with MP4 can just skip that package.

The fact that they have so few HD channels vs. SD channels still... and now we can expect to pay more for new channels? Unacceptable. I will check out these previews, and thanks for that info.

What's sad is that these previews will only be viewable by the (few?) people who have the LNB upgrade (+ 6xx receiver of course). There's no chance i pay for the new LNB so i'll miss out on these until NHL CI comes back and i get them to throw it in for free. I have no leverage now.

Hi everybody happy Canada day to our friends in Canada!!

The promo channel says now MovieTime 250/343 and Discovery World 279/360 plus "over 50 new HD channels" on free preview, those must be the new locals on G1. Well at least we can get MT and DW on the old sats.

Red Zone Channel should be on free preview tomorrow. Not sure about the entire ST package.

I noticed that also, by checking with some others who have the xKu. For those who do not, it does not appear ST was available to watch. Only Red Zone HD. But I read in the NFL thread a couple of F2 channels may have been up, but they weren't in the map I saw.
