I called in two days ago to cancel and the rep offered me 10% off if I stayed with no contract. I then told him that the equipment rental was getting to be too much and that I was going to switch to cable. (I had been getting a free rental of a 6100 for the past 2 years). He then upped the ante to a free 6100 for 1 year with no contract. I told him that I would think about it and get back to him...

I think that I will be moving to cable soon now that my contract is done.

Good Deal.

Now I wonder just how many people are actually paying full price these days with Express Vu.....
$20/mth for a 9200 for the second year is a bad deal. $9.95/mth for a 9200 is a good deal as some others have gotten.

I am sorry but after your first year deal, you should expect to pay FULL.

$20 per month is STANDARD price, if you don't agree, don't sign up......

Expressvu will lock you into a contract initially to protect their investment but afterwards when you are no longer obligated to pay why should you HAVE to pay FULL (I am assuming that his deal was for 1 year)?

The correct answer is that you assess the value of their services and compare to what is offered by the competetion. If they provided you with an excellent service/product than you would WANT to stay with them and pay the full price. If not you go with the competition or see what they will offer you to stay.

you do not OWE the multi billion dollar corporation anything... This applies to any company/service not just BEV

Exactly, if you sign up KNOWING that the regular rate is $20 per month and you are not prepared to pay that, then do not sign up......

If you only opt for a supplier for the Promo period, fine, move on when the price goes up, there are other options out there.

I've got to disagree with you there. When you call to say you want to move on they force you to stay with an offer you can't refuse.
