Garmin recalls 1.25 million GPS devices
Garmin announced today it is recalling 1.25 million personal navigation devices sold worldwide that contain batteries which may overheat and present a fire hazard.
The issue has been identified in less than ten cases and Garmin says none of the reported incidents has caused an injury or significant property damage.
TomTom updates iPhone navigation app
TomTom today announced that the latest version of its iPhone and iPod touch navigation app (version 1.4) is now available from the iTunes app store.
The updated application contains several notable new enhancements including support for iOS4 and multitasking functionality that allows iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod third generation users to receive turn-by-turn directions while their iPhone is running other Applications.
NDrive lowers price of iPhone GPS app to $10
Ndrive Navigation Systems, a Portuguese company that specializes in GPS navigation applications, announced today that it has launched version ten of its iPhone GPS app at a lower price.
NDrive Canada will now sell in the iTunes Canada app store for $9.99, down from $29.99 earlier this month and down from $45 when it was first released last October.

Magellan today announced the company’s new 2010 RoadMate series of portable vehicle navigation devices which includes eight models in a variety of screen sizes and feature sets.
