Shaw to trial FTTH internet service
Shaw Communications announced today that it will trial Gigabit Internet service which is 10 times faster than Shaw’s High-Speed Nitro Internet service, which currently runs at 100 Mbps per second.
The company gave few details of the trial other than to say the service would be “delivered over Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) and will be able to support new and emerging Internet applications that require faster download speeds.”
Bell Aliant seeks to stop “false” advertising by Rogers
Bell Aliant announced today that it had filed a legal claim in Fredericton, New Brunswick against Rogers Communications Inc. Bell is asking the court for an immediate injunction to stop Rogers from making, what Aliant says, is false and misleading claims about its internet service.
According to Bell, Rogers current advertising is false and misleading because Rogers says it has the “fastest and most reliable” high speed Internet service in New Brunswick.
