Apple releases iTunes 9.0.3

Apple has released iTunes 9.0.3, a maintenance release which addresses a number of bugs found in previous versions of iTunes 9. Important bug fixes includes: no longer ignoring your “Remember password for purchases” setting; fixing problems when syncing Smart Playlists and Podcasts with iPod; fixes a problem of not recognizing when an iPod is connected; fixing various issues which affect stability and performance. CRTC rules on FreeHD satellite television application

The CRTC has ruled on an application by FreeHD Canada Inc. which would allow the company to operate a national direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service offering only high definition channels. FreeHD Canada had applied to the CRTC for a licence last August with hopes of launching its satellite TV service in early 2011. (more…) Read More →

Shaw today announced new long distance telephone rates for digital phone customers calling China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam. Under the new Asia Unlimited Calling Plan, residential phone customers can now make unlimited calls to landline and mobile numbers in China, Hong Kong and Singapore, and to landline numbers in Taiwan for $6.95 per month. Rogers to change Quickstart menu after customer complaints
Rogers Cable has informed Digital Home today that it plans to make changes to its new QuickStart Menu after a litany of complaints from subscribers. The new Rogers menu, which forced users to pass through a Rogers marketing screen before they could get to their electronic program guide, met with near universal hatred by Digital Home readers since it was implemented in mid-January.
