Bell today announced the launch of the Fibe TV app, a new way for subscribers to use the service.

Available for iOS and Android, the app will allow Fibe TV users to access hundreds of channels and over 7,000 hour of on-demand programming via their smartphone or tablet. With the tap of a button, users can also switch to viewing on their television set.  Additionally, the app can be used as a remote control to navigate the menu, browse TV listings or manage PVR recordings.

One cool thing that Bell has done with this new release is provide integration for the Apple Watch, which can be used as a remote control instead of a smartphone or tablet.

“The Fibe TV app truly changes the game in television by bringing the full power of the Fibe experience to your mobile devices," said Rizwan Jamal, President of Bell Residential Services. "With more channels than any other app and a feature-rich, easy-to-use interface, the Fibe TV app means watching television just got better."

Fibe TV launched in 2010 and has made Bell the second-largest television provider in Canada.
