Sony Canada Releases HT-ST7 Premium Sound Bar Speaker

Sony Canada’s first entry into the high-end sound bar category is the 7.1-channel HT-ST7.

For $1,399 the HT-ST7 will have to pack some heavy features to lure buyers. That starts with a sleek aluminum chassis with 9 independent speaker drivers and 7 discrete amplifiers incorporating advanced technologies like Audio Return Channel (ARC) and HDMI for convenient set up with just a single cable.

“Consumers demand great sound quality without compromising simplicity for their home entertainment. Unlike many other sound bars that focus on making the TV louder, we focus on great sound, delivering a dynamic stage and an immersive true 7.1 home theatre experience. The result is a high-performance sound bar great for movies and music that is easy to set up and use,” said Noritaka Sawamura, Sr.VP Consumer Marketing and Retail, Sony Canada.

Using both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders for high-definition audio decoding, the HT-ST7 provides deep, clean bass from its dual driver wireless subwoofer.

To help create a great movie night, the magnetic fluid speakers produce clear dialogue, while the S-Master Digital Amplifiers present high-quality music enhancing expressive emotions and the S-Force Pro Front Surround reproduces even the most subtle and faintest sound effects. It’s no surprise that the HT-ST7 sound bar was engineered with help from Academy Award-winning sound engineers at Sony Pictures Studios.

For listening to music with any mobile device, a built-in wireless Bluetooth connection (with support for AAC and AptX) is included plus OneTouch NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, for instant links to music simply by touching a compatible device to the sound bar.

The HT-ST7 sound bar includes a total of 7 inputs (3 HDMI, 3 digital audio and 1 analog), making it flexible enough to support a variety of AV components.
