Sony Adds New Music Unlimited App

Sony’s updated Music Unlimited Service application for iPhone and iPod Touch is now available globally.

The new App, free from Sony’s App Store, delivers improved performance, offline playback and high quality audio streaming.

Once downloaded, the new App allows Music Unlimited Service subscribers to download playlists, albums, and individual songs to their iPhone and iPod touch models allowing them to enjoy music even when not connected to a cellular or WiFi network.

Sony reports that the new App offers the ability “to stream tracks in 320kbps AAC high quality audio streaming for a crystal clear, high fidelity listening experience.”

Sony’s cloud-based digital Music Unlimited Service, launched in Dec. 2010, hosts a global catalog of over 20 million licensed songs.

I wish they had this for android as well. I’m using a free music streaming site called Torch Music. It doesn’t have an app yet to I’m still looking for one, but since I like it so much I may just wait for them to come out with one.
