Vancouver’s Teliphone Corp. Makes Two Key VoIP Acquisitions

Digital telecommunications firm, Teliphone, has acquired Vancouver-based Titan Communications and Cloud-Phone Inc. of Calgary.

Titan is one of the country’s leading providers of white label Voice over IP solutions for carriers and Internet Service Providers, and delivers services to over 8,000 residential customers in Western Canada.

Cloud-Phone serves cloud-based communication services and hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) to more than 300 SMBs across Canada.

Cloud-Phone’s President Keith Young reiterates the merits of the deal: “There is a large underserved market for carrier grade hosted business phone solutions as the world moves to more cloud-based applications. Being part of Teliphone will now give us the resources and facilities we need to quickly expand our business in this area and meet this demand.”

Teliphone will implement software based phone services operating on iPhone and Android platforms and expand hosted PBX, and VoIP offerings throughout Canada. The new customer base will also benefit from the services already in its network suite and communications portfolio.

The company operates a wireless backhaul network, a trans-Canada SONET fibre optic network, a US network and serves voice and IPTV customers in 47 countries.
